We design for new and renovation projects on public and private properties

Understanding the hopes and dreams of our clients is our starting point. So often, with new residential projects, clients tell us they want their new home to look like it was always there, to ‘sit lightly on the land’ so to speak. Our creativity and design skills, coupled with extensive plant knowledge and technical expertise, let us bring our best to your project. We factor in soils, climate, microclimates, budgets, schedules, and a host of other site-specific issues.

Understanding our clients hopes and dreams is critical. So often, with new residential projects, clients tell us they want their home to feel integrated in the landscape.

Our creativity and design skills, coupled with extensive plant knowledge and technical expertise, is exacted on every project.

We consider soils, irrigation, sun & wind exposure, structural & plant buffers, weather patterns, microclimates, budgets, schedules, and a host of other site-specific issues.

We love working with people who want to add extra zing to their properties, making full use of the land they have available.

There’s so much opportunity to design a property that lets you connect with nature and enjoy amenities like outdoor kitchens, terraces, decks, sports courts for tennis, basketball, pickleball and others, hot tubs; saunas for that Nordic spa experience, outdoor showers, fire pits, kayak & boat launches, putting greens and so much more.

There are lots of practical considerations too, like circulation through the site, grading & drainage, retaining walls, parking and driveway locations, storage needs and where to locate them on-site, utility areas for garbage & recycling, screening for mechanical and electrical utilities and a host of other considerations. In the planning stages, don’t forget to factor in how water, wastewater, electrical, mechanical and telecommunications enter & exit the building(s).

Outside collaborates with experts in other disciplines to ensure your project comes together as it should. For example, we coordinate with mechanical and electrical engineers, so you get your exterior electrical and water lines in place at the right time during construction.

Adding outdoor lighting to your project can take your property from a beautiful space to an amazing, unique year-round venue. Consider lighting in the early stages of your design and reach out to our landscape lighting designer (International Landscape Lighting Institute) for a consultation.

Don’t forget snow clearing if you live in an area affected by winter weather, as it can significantly affect design. We factor in how snow clearing equipment should move through the site and where snow should be piled and include the information in your Maintenance Plan.

Our award-winning residential projects are dynamic and engaging destinations.

They help people connect with the great outdoors and build strong relationships between interior and exterior living spaces.
