Outside! designed ‘wave seating’ surrounding the building with night lighting to imply the motion of waves. A ‘school’ of mackerel benches sit over a life-size silhouette of a humpback whale with a sculptural fluke rising from the boardwalk. The installation provides important seating and speaks to the local marine ecology, setting the stage for a future virtual aquarium on the north side of the building.
