We are an international award winning design firm based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, dedicated to innovative work in landscape architecture, focusing on creating beautiful, awe-inspiring outdoor spaces. Founded in 2006 as Outside Planning & Design Studio, the firm works with clients on a wide range of diverse and creative projects.

Projects are infused with a sense of character that respects the site, creating contemporary outdoor environments, often with a playful twist on a traditional design. Our portfolio includes mixed-use, commercial, residential and institutional projects in urban and rural areas.

Sue Sirrs is a Landscape Architect and principal at Outside! Landscape Architects Inc. Sue is a year-round athlete and avid traveler, and her projects reflect her sense of adventure and love of the outdoors. Areas of practice include design for public places and amenities, living walls & green roofs, green building design, landscape restoration, watershed planning and playground design. Sue blends innovative design ideas, landscape architecture and environmental planning skills to create bold, dynamic spaces that enhance the world around her.
